WOW! I can't believe I'm at a powwow!!! I'm so excited! The girls are somewhat nervous but I see they're curious too! So much to do! Got to eat fry bread! not that I don't make fry bread at home but have to have a frybread at a powwow! Also gots to shop for Indian made pottery and beadwork! My uncles made pottery but that was long ago. I have some pieces at home but love to look at what is out today! Also got to see if they have Indian music! Nope... no CDs or anything. Looking for sage, sweet grass... noope... none of that too. :(
The head man Gourd dancer tonight is Kenneth Begay out of New Mexico. He is a master silversmith. He and his family are here with all their hand made items. I have to support this family from New Mexico!
It was dinner time and we already ate an Indian taco and some fry bread... but hello! its' dinner time so I led the girls into the hospitality room! and that is where everyone was gathered as well! Yay! Food time!
One thing I love and miss about powwows is the dancing, the socializing and the eating! Tonight I feel soooo wonderful! and happy!
